Barq's root beer, now known as Barq's Famous Olde Tyme Root Beer, was created in 1898 by Edward Charles Edmond Barq, Sr. in Biloxi, Mississippi. This product is owned only by the Coca-cola Co. in 1995.
In 1999, Barq's had a promotional contest with the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, were the stars took part of the Barq's commercial. And in 2000, Barq's had a promotional release of "Bart's Root Beer" were Bart Simpson was featured in their can design.
